Our drumline program bring the excitement and discipline of marching percussion to life for youth of all levels. Whether they’re picking up drumsticks for the first time or mastering advanced cadences, students experience the thrill of playing in a high-energy drumline. Through hands-on practice, teamwork, and dynamic performances, our drumline classes build confidence, musical talent, and leadership skills that stay with students long after the beat ends.

Beginner Drumline

Our Beginner Drumline class introduces students to the basics of percussion and marching technique. Young drummers learn proper stick grip, simple rudiments, and how to keep steady time with others. Students build a solid foundation in reading rhythms, playing basic patterns, and understanding teamwork — all while having fun and gaining confidence in their new skills.

Student Expectations

Develop proper stick grip and basic drumming posture within the first month.
Accurately play simple rudiments and basic rhythmic patterns by the end of the session.
Keep steady time while playing with a group in practice sessions.
Build confidence to perform a short group piece for family or peers.

What They’ll Learn

Intermediate Drumline

In the Intermediate Drumline, students expand their skills with more complex rudiments, syncopated rhythms, and ensemble coordination. They practice marching drills, cadences, and group exercises that develop precision and discipline. This level focuses on improving technique, building endurance, and preparing students for performances in parades, showcases, and community events.

Master intermediate rudiments and syncopated rhythms within the first half of the program.
Execute clean marching drills and cadences with proper form.
Perform an intermediate drumline routine at a community event or showcase.
Demonstrate discipline, timing, and ensemble awareness.

Advanced Drumline

Our Advanced Drumline pushes experienced drummers to refine their skills and master advanced techniques. Students tackle challenging pieces, intricate sticking patterns, and advanced ensemble drills. Leadership and section coordination are emphasized, helping drummers grow as performers and role models for younger students. By the end, they’re performance-ready and equipped for competitive or high school drumline opportunities.
